Autobiography of Qizhou Xiong
I was born in a small village at the south coastal line of Hangzhou Bay, called Shuangle "Duo Happiness". I enjoyed a poetic childhood in beautiful countryside environment, playing in the open crop field laced with streams and rivers full of fishes and shrimps. I was never a indoor kid that stays in his room all the time, instead I was always out exploring new things in the nature with my companions, such as messing with snakes and frogs, diving into the river to catch fishes or crabs. Most of those things were stupid child play, I got hurt multiple time but was never discouraged. During that time, I think, I developed my extreme curiosity. After a day's play outside, beside my sweaty dirty shirt, I always brought many questions back concerning the things I met or did. My father had always been patient with my questions, he was so kind to answer every single one after his laboring days. As I grew old, the questions got more and more complicated and ridiculous. Eventually, my father was fed up with me, so that he bought me a series of books named "100 thousand of whys" -- a Chinese version of kid's encyclopaedia. That was the time I fell in love with science.
When I started my elementary school, the growing expense of the family makes my parents quit their jobs and seek opportunities in the capital of our province. I had to live with my grandparents since I was 6. Grandpa was a very successful salesman for the village enterprise with lots of experience all around China. He always told me good stories and taught me good values. During my most crucial years of mental development, my grandpa made me an honest and sincere person with good manners. To be continued....
